How to Feed

Start with the daily feeding recommendations above and adjust as needed for your cat. Split the total amount into two meals - AM and PM.

To transition, mix a few nuggets with your cat’s current food and gradually increase the Simple Food Project portion over 5–7 days.

Rehydrate with any warm liquid - water, broth, or goat milk, for example. Add about ¾ cup liquid per 1 cup of food, let it soak for 2–5 minutes, stir, and serve.

If feeding dry, ensure fresh drinking water is always available.

Yes. And all our recipes actually are. You’ve probably seen a lot of foods that say they are limited ingredient, but still have that paragraph of ingredients on the back of the bag. But when we say limited ingredient, we actually mean it. That’s why we put a pile of ALL our ingredients on the FRONT of the box. We’re not trying to hide anything or claim that some ingredients are more important than others. Everything we put in our food has a purpose for nourishing our pets.

Is The Simple Food Project grain free?

Is this considered a raw food?

It depends on what you define ‘raw’ as. Are our foods unprocessed and completely in their original state? No. Those little nuggets of deliciousness go through a couple of different manufacturing processes before they are packaged and delivered to your door. But, all the foods are raw and uncooked when we pop them in the freeze-dryer!

Is the Simple Food Project suitable for kittens?

The Simple Food Project cat recipes are formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO cat food nutrient profiles for adult maintenance and can be fed to cats 6 months of age or older.
